Daily TOURS in Jerusalem

HOURS OF OPERATION: DAILY 08:00 AM to 20:30 PM (unless otherwise noted)

OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM  A memorable walking journey through the four quarters of the Old City of Jerusalem: Muslim, Christian, Armenian and Jewish. 

MEETING POINT - OUTSIDE THE JAFFA GATE, OLD CITY of Jerusalem at 08:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM at Jaffa Gate. If you require transportation this too can be arranged. From Jaffa Gate we'll walk through the Armenian Quarter, exit via  Zion Gate to the Western Hill of Mt Zion.  We'll visit the traditional site of the Upper Room and take time to consider when Jesus, 2000 yrs old celebrated his last Passover meal with his disciples and where the Acts 2 day of Pentecost came.  We will see the tradition site of King David's Tomb, a Jewish seminary learning (Yeshiva), a preserved Mosque and portions of the ancient Crusader cloister.  We will reenter Zion Gate and walking into the renewed Jewish Quarter of the Old City, where the historic, archeological and biblical writings come to life. Following some culinary refreshments, we will continue our journey  you ample time for reflection and prayer at the Western Wall, one of the four support walls of the Temple Mount built by Herod the Great. We will visit the Pools of Bethesda at Saint Anne's Church operated by the French White Fathers community (John 5) where Jesus healed the paralytic who had been waiting for healing for 38 years! We will walk along the traditional route of the Via Dolorosa (Way of Sorrows) and visit the traditional site of the crucifixion (Golgotha) and burial of Jesus Christ of Nazareth (at the Holy Sepulchre Church).

MOUNT OF OLIVE AND MOUNT ZION
Tour begins at 08:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM. PICK up at your accommodation at 08:00 am. We'll begin from the Observation Point of the Mount of Olives taking in the magnificent panorama of the Old City of Jerusalem.  We'll walk down the mountain to the Dominus Flevit Church (Luke 13:34, Matthew 23:37) and the Garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22:42). After walking through the Kidron Valley (Jehosaphat) and explore the ancient tombs. After Lunch we will visit the Church of St Peter in Gallicantu where according to tradition Peter denies the Lord and where Jesus is held over night. From there will visit the peak of Mt Zion and visit the traditional 'Upper Room' site of the Last Passover Meal and Pentecost (Luke 22:12 and Acts 2). On location we have opportunity to visit a site which is venerated as  King David’s Tomb. We’ll walk through Zion Gate to Jaffa where we will end our day.

CITY OF DAVID - GENESIS OF JERUSALEM

Tour begins at 08:00 AM at Jaffa Gate. We will travel to the City of David (where Jerusalem began) and explore the important archeological discoveries, walk through the King Hezekiah’s water channel, the Pool of Siloam and then an exciting walk through archeology along an ancient Roman passage taking us to the out to the southern portion of the Western Wall. We’ll visit the Davidson Centre (Jerusalem archeological park), walk a long a 2000 yr old Roman road to the Southern Steps archeology. Following lunch in the Jewish Quarter, we will take time for reflection at the Western Wall. We’ll visit the Temple Mount, the mount and platform upon which the Jewish holy temples were built (1st and 2nd Temple Periods) and destroyed; and see today’s Islamic holy structures ( Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque, both built in the 7th century). We’ll stroll through the Muslim Old City quarter and visit the Western Wall Tunnels exit upon the Via Dolorosa (Christianity’s “Way of Sorrows” via the Christian Quarter and conclude our day at Jaffa Gate. We will end our day at 17:00 (5:00 PM) 

JERUSALEM THEN + NOW

OUR MEETING POINT is @ the Jerusalem Municipality at 08:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM. We begin our day of an overview of the Jerusalem Municipality, the Russian Compound - we'll have lively conversation and hear about the stories of the history-making people, sites and events during Jerusalem's Russian, Turkish, British Mandate and modern Israeli periods.  We'll have a great time walking along Jaffa Street, to Nahalat Sheva, one of modern Jerusalem's earliest neighbourhoods,  to Ben Yehuda Street (named after the visionary Eliezer Ben Yehudah, who revived the ancient Hebrew into a modern language) - we'll continue along Prophet Street and conclude our day with the many sites, sounds, colours and culinary delights of Jerusalem's 'Shuk' Machane Yehuda (Judah Market). We will talk about the tapestry of people and stories from the past and the present who weave for us an exciting 21st century Jerusalem. 

DAY OF REMEMBRANCE:

09:00 We begin at the Mount of Remembrance at the Yad VaShem, World Holocaust Museum, following Yad VaShem we will tour the Mt Herzl Museum (story of early Zionism) and visit the National Cemetry for fallen soldiers and national leaders. After Lunch at the Judah Market we will visit the War Memorial of Ammunition Hill for an overview of a turning point battle during the Six Day War (1967) - at 17:00 we will finish our day.

DAY of CULTURE, EDUCATION and JUSTICE 09:00 Israel Museum, Archeology Section, Jewish Life section, the Shrine of the Book (exhibit of Dead Sea Scrolls) - Lunch at the Museum Cafe. After lunch, a visit of the Knesset Israel [Israel House of Parliament] and the Superior Court of Israel. We will finish our day at 17:00.

JERUSALEM, ONE DAY AT A TIME.. Each tour is custom made. There are many amazing sites and neighbourhoods of interest to visit... but not all in one day. Give yourself another day to explore. Independence Park, the Great Synagogue, The Tower of David Museum, The Italian Synagogue, the Jerusalem Theatre, the Artists Colony and of course, Jerusalem's First Train Station hosting music events... and it’s always fun to visit the natural food market and enjoy local culinary delights at the restaurants and cafe's. GALILEE CHRISTIANITY

07:00 Pick up at your hotel in Jerusalem. We will visit Magdala, 1st century Jewish city. According to the Gospel of Matthew 15:39 and 4:23 “And He sent away the multitude, and took the boat and went into the coasts of Magdala” - “Jesus went throughout Galilee teaching in their synagogues preaching the good news of the kingdom healing every disease and sickness among the people.” We will ascend Mt of Beatitudes the traditional location where Jesus spoke his powerful message to the multitudes (Matthew 5,6,7). we will drive along the western shores of the Sea of Galilee to visit Peter’s Primacy (we will be at the shore where according to the scriptures, the post resurrection site where Peter reinstated by Jesus (John 21). Caperneum, the hometown of Jesus’ public ministry in the Galilee. After lunch we will have an opportunity to be on a boat on the Sea of Galilee. We will conclude our day at 17:00 and head back to Jerusalem.
